Overview

Kill all 475 regular hunt NMs and the elite system unlocks. Elite NMs are characters drawn from FFXI's own story — reimagined as open-world endgame encounters with custom dialogue, spawn conditions, and AI.

There is no skipping. The tiers must be cleared in sequence. You cannot access Humanoid Champions until you've cleared the Elemental Gyves. You cannot reach the Special Bosses without clearing the Champions. Every elite also has its own individual prerequisites — time of day, weather, moon phase, player titles, kill counts in the zone — on top of the tier requirement.

Tier 4 — Elemental Seals (Entry Point)

The 8 Elemental Seals are the starting point. Each is bound to a specific zone and a matching elemental family. Kill enough of the right mobs in that zone, then wait for the correct weather condition to force the spawn.

Tier 3 — Humanoid Champions

Six story characters from across FFXI's expansions. Each requires at least one specific Elemental Seal cleared, plus unique spawn conditions.

Tier 2 — Special Bosses

Two bosses that require multiple Seal clears and Champion clears, plus demanding zone-state conditions.

Final — Absolute Virtue

Clear all field elites and speak to the Hunts Master to spawn Absolute Virtue in Mount Kamihr. AV does not auto-spawn — it is a deliberate act. It uses every job ability in the game on rotating cooldowns.

Killing Absolute Virtue resets the entire elite progression. The Seals, the Champions, the Special Bosses, the Supreme Beings — everything clears. You start over.

Tier 1 — Supreme Beings

Seven of FFXI's most powerful entities, reimagined as the hardest field encounters in the hunt system. Each chain-pops from lower tier kills and requires extreme conditions to spawn.

BCNM — Time Devourer

Time Devourer is a battlefield encounter, not a field spawn. It requires NPC assistance to access and is separate from the field elite progression.
