⚠ Locked Content

You cannot fight any of these yet.

Elite hunts do not spawn until your character has personally killed all 475 regular hunt NMs. There is no exception. There is no shortcut. The Hunts Master will turn you away, and none of the elites listed below will appear in their zones.

Run !huntstatus to check your progress. Finish the 475-NM sweep first, then come back here.

Overview

Once you've killed all 475 regular hunt NMs, the Elite system unlocks on top. 25 story characters reimagined as open-world endgame encounters with custom AI, dialogue, and spawn conditions.

There is no skipping. The tiers must be cleared in order: Seals (Tier 4) → Champions (Tier 3) → Specials (Tier 2) → Supremes (Tier 1) → Absolute Virtue. Every elite also has its own spawn conditions on top of the tier gate — specific Vana'diel days, weather, moon phase, player titles, and zone-state kill counters.

How to start
  1. Finish the 475-NM sweep first. !huntstatus confirms your eligibility.
  2. Talk to the NM Hunts Master in Celennia Memorial Library — once eligible, a new menu option appears for the Elite board.
  3. Start in Tier 4 — Elemental Seals. Pick one (Fire Seal at Cape Teriggan is a common first clear). Fly there, kill the matching elemental family to build your counter, then wait for the listed weather.
  4. Progress upward through the tiers using the tables below — each row lists the prereq and spawn condition.
  5. Elites award 250 Scyld per kill (10× the regular rate).

Terminology: "Seal" and "Gyve" are used interchangeably — they're the 8 elemental Tier-4 bosses. "Vana'diel day" means the in-game 8-day week (Firesday, Iceday, Windsday, Earthsday, Lightningday, Waterday, Lightsday, Darksday); one full Vana'diel day ≈ 58 real minutes. "Reive" is the Seekers-of-Adoulin outdoor battle system; several spawns require specific Reive state in a zone. "Moon" refers to the 84-day Vana'diel lunar cycle — check /clock.

Tier 4 — Elemental Seals (Entry Point)

🔒 Locked until 475/475 regular NMs are cleared.

The 8 Elemental Seals are the starting point. Each is bound to a specific zone and a matching elemental family. Kill enough of the right mobs in that zone, then wait for the correct weather condition to force the spawn.

Final — Absolute Virtue

🔒 Locked until 475/475 regular NMs are cleared.

Clear all field elites and speak to the Hunts Master to spawn Absolute Virtue in Mount Kamihr. AV does not auto-spawn — it is a deliberate act. It uses every job ability in the game on rotating cooldowns.

Killing Absolute Virtue resets the entire elite progression. The Seals, the Champions, the Special Bosses, the Supreme Beings — everything clears. You start over.

Tier 1 — Supreme Beings

🔒 Locked until 475/475 regular NMs are cleared.

Seven of FFXI's most powerful entities, reimagined as the hardest field encounters in the hunt system. Each chain-pops from lower tier kills and requires extreme conditions to spawn.

BCNM — Time Devourer

🔒 Locked until 475/475 regular NMs are cleared.

Time Devourer is a battlefield encounter, not a field spawn. It requires NPC assistance to access and is separate from the field elite progression.
