The NM Hunt

The core of Scythe's endgame. 506 custom Notorious Monsters spread across 150 zones throughout Vana'diel. Every NM is built from scratch:

  • Unique names — drawn from real-world mythology and folklore across dozens of cultures. Chelona, Nuckelavee, Girtablilu, Pandaemonium, Lamashtu. No generic names, no duplicates.
  • Distinct models — every NM has a unique visual appearance. No two NMs in the entire hunt share the same model.
  • Level 160 with 10x stat multipliers — these are not regular mobs. They hit hard, they have real HP pools, and they use actual mob skill lists with proper AI behavior. Some have AV-style 2-hour cycling and phase transitions.
  • Scyld currency — every kill awards Scyld. Spend it at the Hunts Master in the hub zone to unlock elite hunts and purchase rewards.
  • Per-character kill tracking — every unique NM you kill is recorded. Milestones at every 50 kills. Kill all 506 to unlock the endgame.
  • 9-11 minute respawn — no waiting hours. If someone gets there first, come back in 10 minutes.
  • 150 zones — NMs are distributed across the entire world, from starter zones to Abyssea to Seekers of Adoulin areas. Every zone has 3 NMs.

The hunt system uses dynamic entity spawning — NMs appear in the overworld with no instancing required. Walk up and fight them.

Elite Hunts

Kill all 506 regular hunt NMs and the real challenge begins. 25 legendary bosses — characters drawn from FFXI's own story, reimagined as endgame encounters.

The Colosseum

A custom arena zone with timed boss fights. The primary path for earning Exemplar Points and leveling up Master Levels.

5 Challenge Modes

  • Normal — standard fight, up to 6 players
  • Hard — 1.5x HP, 1.3x stats, extra adds spawn, 1.5x EP reward
  • Speed Kill — 0.8x HP but only 40% of the time limit, 2x EP reward
  • Solo — 0.5x HP, solo only, 2.5x EP reward
  • No Magic — no spells allowed, 0.7x HP, 1.8x EP reward

Gauntlet mode available — fight consecutive bosses within a tier, ascending through tiers, or endurance runs. Gauntlet rewards scale with streak length.

Master Levels

50 master levels earned by accumulating Exemplar Points from Colosseum fights. Master levels are tracked per-job — your WAR master level is separate from your BLM master level.

Higher master levels unlock higher Colosseum tiers. Adamant tier (the hardest) requires ML 50 and pits you against level 150 bosses with 8 million HP.

Siege Raids

Server-wide 5-wave raid events with FFXIV-inspired mechanics. When a siege begins, players converge on the battle zone to defend against escalating waves of enemies culminating in a boss fight.

  • 5 waves — escalating difficulty with increasing mob count and strength per wave
  • Boss AI phases — the siege boss has distinct combat phases with different abilities, vulnerability windows, and mechanics
  • Vulnerability system — boss takes reduced damage outside of vulnerability windows, rewarding coordinated burst damage
  • Siege abilities and spells — custom mechanics specific to siege encounters
  • Visual callouts — on-screen indicators for mechanics
  • Exemplar Points — siege participation awards EP toward master levels

Relic Weapons Reborn

All 14 relic weapons have been rebalanced to be genuinely endgame-competitive. The numbers:

Dynamis Divergence

Instanced high-difficulty Dynamis. Four zones available:

  • Dynamis-Bastok [D]
  • Dynamis-San d'Oria [D]
  • Dynamis-Windurst [D]
  • Dynamis-Jeuno [D]

Each zone has custom mob pools, divergence-specific droplists, and encounter design tuned for coordinated groups.

Fay Weapon Augments

The Succor to the Sidhe quest system. Trade a Fay, Erlking, Dweomer, Ogre, or other eligible weapon to Callisto in Grauberg [S]. Fight Pixie NMs in Shadowreign zones. Receive an augmented version of your weapon.

Other Custom Content

  • Ferry Pirates — pirate crews board the ferry routes. Scaled mobs with linked aggro spawn on deck. Clear them before port.
  • Campaign Battles — Wings of the Goddess campaign system with Allied Notes rewards. Battles fire regularly across WotG zones.
  • All Expansions — every expansion from Zilart through Rhapsodies is enabled and playable. Story missions, battlefields, and zone content all available.
