Who is Abenzio?

Abenzio is not a person at all. He is a Goobbue, a massive plant-like monster from the Seekers of Adoulin expansion. Goobbues are lumbering creatures covered in moss and vegetation, and Abenzio is a domesticated one that fights alongside adventurers. Yes, you can summon a literal plant monster to fight for you.

Key Abilities

• High HP — Goobbues are naturally bulky creatures with a large HP pool. Abenzio can take a beating that would drop most damage-dealing Trusts.
• Counter — When enemies attack Abenzio, he has a chance to automatically strike back. This means he deals damage even while being hit, turning enemy aggression against them.
• Slow but Powerful Hits — Goobbues attack slowly but each hit deals solid damage. He is the opposite of fast-attacking Monks: fewer swings, but each one counts.
• Creature Immunities — As a non-humanoid creature, Abenzio may not benefit from all standard party buffs, similar to other creature-type Trusts.

When to Use Abenzio

Abenzio is a novelty pick. Having a giant plant monster in your party is amusing, and his high HP means he survives well. His Counter ability adds some passive damage. However, his slow attack speed and limited buff compatibility mean he is outperformed by most standard melee Trusts for raw damage output. Use him if you enjoy the novelty or want a damage dealer that can absorb some punishment.
