Who is August?

August is the steadfast protector of the Sacred City of Adoulin, serving as a shield for its people during the events of the Seekers of Adoulin expansion. A towering Hume knight clad in heavy armor, he is widely regarded as one of the most capable warriors in all of Ulbuka. His unwavering sense of duty and immense physical strength make him the ideal guardian, and those qualities carry over perfectly into his role as a Trust.

Key Abilities

• 50% Damage Taken reduction (baseline) + +25 Enmity + +20 Fast Cast + +10% HP — August's baseline tanking stats are built to absorb punishment from the moment he's summoned.
• Provoke — reactive whenever he does not have top enmity. Forces the enemy to re-target him.
• Flash — enmity spell, also blinds the target.
• Holy II — offensive light spell that generates additional enmity while dealing damage.
• Divine Emblem + Sentinel + Palisade + Reprisal — the full PLD defensive JA rotation. Sentinel and Palisade fire at low HP for emergency mitigation; Reprisal reflects incoming damage while tanking.
• Emergency Cure — auto-cast on any party member below 40% HP. He's a self-sustaining backup healer in a pinch.
• Daybreak (custom mechanic) — when August drops below 66% HP, he triggers the Daybreak state which grants Regain and Regen for 90 seconds. Base cooldown is 3 minutes.
• Tank Enmity Siphon — custom Scythe mechanic that siphons enmity away from party members onto August every 3 seconds while he's engaged, making him near-impossible to lose hate from.

Tier Upgrades

August is the strongest tier-upgradeable tank on Scythe. Each tier stacks shield block rate, speeds up Daybreak, and culminates in a near-immortal, party-healing tank.

Tier III (MAX)	100% Shield Block Rate — blocks every blockable hit. Raise spell added (auto-raises KO'd party). Daybreak heals the whole party for 15% max HP when it triggers.

When to Use August

August is the strongest tank trust on Scythe. At Tier III with 100% shield block, party-wide Daybreak heal, and Raise access, he's a standalone damage soak that can carry small parties through most content. Pair him with a dedicated healer (Apururu UC, Nashmeira II, or Yoran-Oran UC) and you have a two-trust foundation for virtually any fight.

Tips for New Players

• Always bring a healer when using August. He holds hate (enemy attention) extremely well, but he needs outside healing to survive the hardest fights.
• August is available from Login Points Set 5 for 100 points. Login Points are earned just by logging in each day, so save up and grab him as soon as you can.
• If you are new to FFXI, a solid starting party is: You (any damage job) + August (tank) + a healer Trust + two damage Trusts. This covers all the basics.
