Who is Tenzen II?

Tenzen is the katana-wielding hero of the Chains of Promathia storyline, one of the most beloved expansion stories in FFXI. A samurai from the Far East, Tenzen travels to the Middle Lands on a mission to prevent the awakening of Promathia. Tenzen II is his upgraded trust form, representing the full power of a warrior who has faced gods and emerged victorious. He fights with the refined technique and unwavering determination that carried him through the Promathia saga.

Key Abilities

• Hasso — the standard Samurai attack speed and accuracy buff for two-handed weapons. Tenzen II keeps this active for faster attacks and more TP generation.
• Meditate — instantly grants TP so he can use weapon skills sooner and more often.
• Improved AI — compared to base Tenzen, the II version makes smarter decisions about when to use abilities and weapon skills, resulting in better overall damage output.
• Better damage — hits harder than the base version with improved stats and weapon skill usage.

When to Use Tenzen II

Tenzen II is a strong, straightforward Samurai DD trust. He deals solid damage through the classic Samurai formula of Hasso plus Meditate plus frequent weapon skills. If you have both Tenzen and Tenzen II, always use the II version — it is better in every regard. He is a reliable damage dealer for any content and works well alongside skillchain-focused trusts or as a standalone DD.
