Master Levels are FFXI's post-99 progression system. You gain them by earning Exemplar Points (EP) — a currency from high-end content. Each ML gives +1 to every stat, +7 HP, and +2 MP. Master Levels are tracked per-job — your WAR ML is separate from your BLM ML, so mains progress faster than alts.

The cap is ML 50. Getting there takes long-term commitment — the final levels each cost millions of EP.

Where to earn EP today

On Scythe, while the Colosseum is still in development, EP is earned from:

  • Siege raids — main live source. Show up when one fires and participate. EP is awarded proportional to contribution, with a baseline for anyone who stays through the end.
  • Boosted Abyssea NMs — selected Abyssea NMs award bonus EP on top of retail drops. Details on the Other Features page.
  • Elite Hunt clears — elite-tier kills award small EP alongside the 250 Scyld.

When the Colosseum ships it becomes the highest-throughput source (125,000 EP per Mythril-tier clear). Existing ML progress carries forward — nothing resets.

EP Cost Per Level
