Who is King of Hearts?

King of Hearts is a Cardian, one of the magical card-soldier automatons created by the Federation of Windurst. Cardians are animated playing cards brought to life through Windurstian magic, and they serve as soldiers and servants throughout the nation. King of Hearts appears during the Chains of Promathia storyline and is notable for being more self-aware than most Cardians.

Key Abilities

Haste — Speeds up your attack rate by about 15%. More attacks per minute means more damage and faster TP accumulation for weapon skills.
Refresh — Provides a steady trickle of MP recovery over time. Essential for any party member who casts spells.
Healing Backup — Thanks to his White Mage sub job, King of Hearts can cast healing spells when party members take damage. He is not a primary healer, but he can help keep people alive in a pinch, reducing pressure on your main healer trust.

When to Use King of Hearts

King of Hearts fills the same role as Koru-Moru: Red Mage support with Haste and Refresh. His White Mage sub job gives him a slight healing edge, while Koru-Moru brings Dispel (removing enemy buffs). In practice, both are excellent and the difference is small. Pick whichever you prefer, or use whichever you unlock first. If you already have Koru-Moru, King of Hearts is a solid backup for situations where you want a second support trust in your party.
