Who is Qultada?

Qultada is a Corsair captain from the Arrapago pirates, a band of seafaring adventurers operating in the seas around the Empire of Aht Urhgan. He plays a central role in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline, where he helps you navigate the dangerous political waters of the Near East. He is calm, calculating, and always has a trick up his sleeve.

Key Abilities

• Phantom Roll — This is the Corsair's signature ability and the reason you bring Qultada. He rolls a set of magical dice, and the result gives a buff to everyone in your party. Different rolls boost different things: one roll might increase your attack power, another might boost your magic accuracy, another might speed up your spellcasting. The key thing to understand is that Corsair rolls are a completely unique buff category. They stack with (add on top of) every other buff in the game. So Haste from a Red Mage plus a Haste-type roll from a Corsair both apply at the same time. This stacking is what makes Corsairs uniquely valuable as support.
• Dark Shot — A ranged attack that also applies a debuff (harmful effect) to the enemy. This lets Qultada contribute some offensive utility between rolls.

When to Use Qultada

Bring Qultada when you want those extra stacking buffs that no other trust can provide. He pairs beautifully with Koru-Moru: Koru-Moru provides Haste, Refresh, Protect, and Shell, while Qultada layers Corsair rolls on top of all of that. Together they make your party significantly stronger than either one alone. Qultada is especially valuable in harder content where every bit of extra power matters. He is more support-focused than Luzaf (the other Corsair trust), making him the better choice when you want pure buffing.
