Melee DD — Dark Knight
Zeid II is the upgraded version of Zeid — the brooding Galka Dark Knight from the Bastok and Zilart storylines. Despite the "II" label, he isn't strictly better than base Zeid; he's a different build. Zeid II drops most of the dark-magic toolkit in favour of aggressive pure-melee: always-on Souleater and Last Resort stacking, Stun on reactive windows, and Ground Strike as his signature weapon skill. Base Zeid keeps Nether Void, Drain, Absorbs, and Aspir for sustain — Zeid II trades those for raw damage uptime.

Notably not on Zeid II's gambit list: Nether Void, Drain, Absorb ACC, Absorb TP, Aspir. Base Zeid has all of those — they are the sustain/utility toolkit he trades away for the always-on Souleater + Last Resort stacking.
Zeid II is a tier-upgradeable trust. His upgrades lean fully into the pure-melee version of Zeid: more weapon skill damage, more TP speed, and a critical-hit spike at max tier.
| Tier | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| Base | Stun reactions to enemy TP moves, monster skills, job abilities, and spell casts; Souleater and Last Resort on cooldown; Ground Strike special dialogue. |

Zeid II is the pure-melee Dark Knight pick — you get maximum aggression with both signature JAs running at all times, plus reactive Stun on the dangerous enemy moves. He trades away base Zeid's self-sustain (Drain / Absorbs / Aspir) and Nether Void's dark-magic burst.
Pick Zeid II when the fight rewards sustained melee damage and your healer can keep him alive through the defense drop. Pick base Zeid when you want the reactive Stun plus full dark-magic sustain. Both are Set 1 Login Points trusts — having both on hand lets you pick the right one per fight.
